Tempisque Tree
This tree plays one of the leading roles in the history of the town of San Vicente, because it was the only hostel in the Spanish families were evicted from San Cayetano Istepeque, Tepetitan, Santo Domingo, Apastepeque and Tecoluca in the seventeenth century. Basilica of Our Lady of the Pillar
According to an anecdote, in the mid-eighteenth century lived in the city the marriage of José Merino and Doña Manuela de Arce. Some day, and by a fit of jealousy, the wife attempted to slash José Merino on three occasions. General Information
The municipality of San Vicente covers an area of 267.25 km and the sanctuary has an altitude of 390 meters above sea level. According to the official census of 2007, it has a population of 53,213 million.9 The patron saint festivities are held in the month of December in honor of San Vicente Abad and Martir.10 are also public holidays on January 15 in honor of the Lord of Esquipulas, and from 25 October to 3 November, in the "Feria de todos los Santos".11 The village is located on the right bank of the river Acahuapa.
